At IWT, investing in people means investing in their safety, preparedness, and confidence.
For this reason, we launched a dedicated internal training initiative developed in partnership with Salvagente Italia, a non-profit organization specializing in first-aid education and community prevention programs.
Workplace first-aid courses are typically mandatory and focused on compliance.
Our initiative takes a different approach:
to create a genuine First Aid Culture that empowers individuals to act decisively in critical situations.
This program addresses a real need. Research and national statistics show that most people in Italy feel unsure or unprepared when facing emergencies such as cardiac arrest or choking — conditions where prompt intervention can dramatically change outcomes.
The course combines theory and hands-on practice to strengthen both skills and confidence:
Participants are encouraged not only to learn techniques, but also to overcome hesitation — one of the biggest barriers in real emergency response.
In Italy, companies are not required to have defibrillators on site.
At IWT, we installed three.
This reflects our belief that emergency preparedness is not an option but a responsibility.
Thanks to this initiative, IWT also contributes to financing Salvagente Italia’s programs in local schools, where children and educators learn essential first-aid practices.
This is how we aim to generate broader social value: by helping bring lifesaving skills to future generations.
Developing a First Aid Culture supports three strategic pillars:
For our teams — and for those who may join us in the future — it signals that safety is embedded in the way we work, think, and take care of one another.
